DIRECTOR

Rangatiratanga. Manaakitanga. Whakapapa. Mātauranga.
Māori leadership. Care. Generations. Knowledge.

Business and government agencies in Aotearoa/New Zealand are leveraging tools and technology to meet, address and prioritise diversity, environment, and sustainability issues, especially on the road to recovery from the COVID-19 health crisis. This requires agile governance capable of being able to deliver sustainable outcomes of benefit to not only those interests their organisation exists for, but for the wider community.

Kura Consulting Director, Amokura Panoho brings to the board table a diverse range of experience across many organisations, whether they are private, not-for-profit, social enterprise, iwi/Māori, local and central government.

Rangatiratanga

Rangatiratanga is often associated with sovereignty, leadership, autonomy to make decisions, and self-determination. This includes leadership within the whānau and community, as well as leadership within business and politics.

Amokura demonstrates her experience in supporting the stewardship of an organisation to advocate for their community, to do the right thing for their people and ensuring wellbeing and generosity of spirit.

Manaakitanga

Manaakitanga is often expressed by providing hospitality and protection. Manaakitanga derives from two words - ‘mana’ and ‘aki’. Mana is to hold everything in the highest regard. Aki means to uphold or support. Extending Manaakitanga requires respect, humility, kindness and honesty.

Amokura helps organisations to establish their vision, their role and responsibilities and guides them in understanding their cultural obligations.

Whakapapa

Embracing cultural identity grounded in traditional Māori kaupapa and tikanga ensures that contemporary ideas and innovation are constructive tools that will empower and strengthen Te Ao Māori in business.

Amokura has created a repository of stories that reflect and celebrates leadership that is contributing to a greater understanding from a wider audience across Aotearoa/New Zealand of Māori endeavour and success

Mātauranga

Mātauranga means knowledge, wisdom, understanding, skill.

Over the past 30 years Amokura has acquired knowledge in areas of facilitation, negotiation, strategic planning, programme development, employment relations, mediation, funding strategies, grants management, strategic relationship management and brokerage.

Directorships and Governance Roles

A leader is best when people barely know they exist, when their work is done, their aim fulfilled, the people will say: we did it ourselves.
