Amokura Panoho is special guest facilitator at our upcoming Online Safety Conference next month for our panel focussed on the crucial issues for Māori and First Nations communities.
Titled “Te Hā o Hineahuone” deriving from the whakataukī “Me aro ki te hā o Hineahuone”, pay heed to the dignity of women, this keystone panel will feature Linda Clay, Interim CEO Māori Women's Development Inc’s,Taaniko Nordstrom, Co-founder of Soldiers Road, and Kayla Cartledge , Founder of Our Songlines and Aboriginal Communities Lead at Monash University.
Amokura, Director Kura Consulting Limited, is the Poutaki Matauranga Māori for Netsafe, and presently a member of Te Pūkotahitanga, the Tangata Whenua Advisory Committee to Te Aōrerekura, the national strategy to address Domestic Abuse and Sexual Harm.
In previous roles she was the inaugural chair for Shakti Asian Womens Network and Refuge, Chair of Parihaka Papakainga Trust leading the Treaty settlement claim, and Chair of New Zealand Māori Tourism.
She is a mother of five and taua to five mokopuna. Recently widowed she spends her time between the golden triangle of Taranaki, Tāmaki Makaurau and Tai Tokerau.
